The Academic English Mastery Program AEMP is a holistic, evidence-based curriculum designed specifically to cater to the language and literacy requirements of African American, Mexican American, Hawian American, and Native American students for whom Standard English serves as their second language. These students are generally categorized under the term 'Standard English Learners'. This program integrates teaching strategies that promote the acquisition of both standard and academic English while fostering an inclusive learning environment that respects, acknowledges, and builds upon the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of each student.
