History

Since its inception in 1965 as the Virginia Peninsula Vocational Technical Education Center, New Horizons has been at the forefront of educational innovation through regional cooperation.

Year of Foundation

The Center initially opened with just five faculty members serving a student body of only 85 students at Copeland Park Elementary School in Hampton, Virginia.

Expansion into Community

Incorporating into its mission to serve and support the Peninsula's community needs, New Horizons has grown significantly through strategic facilities development and service enhancement.

From humble beginnings, the center has expanded across four distinct sites totaling over 150 acres, each equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure designed to meet diverse educational requirements:
