Promoting Lifelong Ocean Education - Two Years On: Charting Progress and Adjusting Course

Session participants will explore how their regional or national initiatives align with the ocean education recommations in the USCOP United States Coastal Ocean Partnership report and assess future needs. This session identify progress, recognize shortcomings, and suggest modifications to current strategies and plans for future eavors.

Building upon VADM Lautenbacher's keynote presentation on ocean literacy, examples of ocean-focused educational efforts at various levels will be shared, highlighting advancements made, challenges encountered, and potential solutions. Working in small groups, participants will engage deeply with the material, considering actions they, their institutions, or NMEA National Marine Educator Association can take to advance the ocean and aquatic education aga.
