Program Overview:
The Supporting Early program is a professional development initiative created by the English Hub consortium, with assistance from Speech and Language UK. This comprehensive program has been developed as part of an effort to unify the medium-level support MLS offerings across English Hub networks. Its m is to streamline processes for hubs while enhancing national access to primary education-focused CPD opportunities for schools seeking assistance.
Program Eligibility:
The program exclusively offers a series of five sessions, all complimentary in nature. However, to participate, institutions must commit to atting every session and possess a provision for Year Reception YR or Key Stage 1 KS1. The term 'early language' encompasses various age groups starting from birth.
Program Objectives:
Deepen Understanding: Gn insight into the foundational model of across primary education stages and beyond.
Identify Milestones: Focus on understanding typical language milestones expected during primary years, specifically ages 4 to 11.
Enhance Teaching Skills: Equip classroom educators with practical strategies for high-quality first teaching in Year Reception and KS1 settings. This empowers practitioners who are skilled and confident in their classrooms, thereby fostering positive learning outcomes for all children.
Detect and Support: Learn methods for recognizing children whose may lag behind typical expectations, alongside guidance on implementing classroom interventions effectively or facilitating timely professional assessments when necessary.
